Dana Hegerová, born and raised in the Czech Republic, embarked on her musical journey at the Jaroslav Ježek Conservatory under the guidance of Mario Mesany. She further honed her skills at the prestigious Academy of Performing Arts in Prague, studying under Jiří Válek. Dana's dedication to orchestral playing began early during her conservatory years, marked by a notable tenure as a piccolo player with the Karlovy Vary Symphony Orchestra. This instrument became her focal point throughout her career, leading her to prominent engagements with the Prague State Opera Orchestra and the Czech National Symphony Orchestra.

Currently, Dana is a distinguished member of the Czech Radio Symphony Orchestra. Her tenure there has been highlighted by remarkable performances, including a recording of the Concerto for Piccolo and Tuba by Ondřej Kukal. She is also working on exciting new piccolo recordings. As a soloist, Dana has graced the stage with various prestigious ensembles, including her own Czech Radio Symphony Orchestra, the Czech National Symphony Orchestra, the North Bohemian Philharmonic Orchestra of Teplice, the Talich Chamber Orchestra, the Czech Symphony Orchestra, and multiple appearances with the Atlantis Orchestra.

Her career is a testament to her unwavering passion for music and her exceptional skill on the piccolo, making her a respected figure in the Czech classical music scene. Dana continues to inspire with her performances and recordings, contributing significantly to the rich tapestry of orchestral music in the Czech Republic and beyond.
